Bahrain is a small island country in the Persian Gulf and Manama is its capital.
Manama is also the largest city of Bahrain. Over 80% of the citizens of Manama
are Muslims. Therefore most of the Manama Festivals and Events are influenced
by Islamic culture. But this Islamic influence does not affect the city's cosmopolitan
environment. Although 'manama' in Arabic means a 'sleepy place', the Manama
of today is the most happening place in the country with its nightclubs, modern
shopping malls and exquisite hotels. Throughout the year several Festivals

Muharraq Summer Festival
Muharraq Summer Festival is celebrated at Muharraq Garden.Among all Manama
Festivals and Events this festival is a manifestation of youth and family bonding.
This festival is held annually. In this festival various stalls are given for
children or for whole family. There are stalls regarding food, games and other
entertainments like quiz competitions, magic shows, laser shows, camel and horse
riding,etc.
Bahrain International Book Fair
Bahrain International Book Fair is held generally in the month of March-April
every year. The venue for this fair is the Bahrain International Exhibition
Centre (BIEC). This book fair exhibits all kinds of books and their electronic
versions if possible.
National Day
Every year from 16th to 17th December citizens of Manama, as well as the whole
of Bahrain, celebrates their independence day as National Day. Everywhere parades,
marches, speeches and other special activities are arranged on National Day.
Bahrain Grand Prix
Formula One Grand Prix is one of the latest additions in Manama Festivals and
Events list. Formula One race is hosted in Bahrain International Racing Circuit
in Manama. It is the fastest motor sport and one of the most daring sports in
the world. Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix has gained a huge popularity
as soon as it has started.
Jewelry Arabia
Jewelry Arabia is an international fair on fashionable jewelry and accessories
made in Bahrain. Now it is considered as the most prominent and largest jewelry
fair in the Middle East. This fair is held annually at Bahrain International
Exhibition Centre in Manama.
Autumn Fair Bahrain
The Autumn Fair Bahrain is also an annual affair in the list of Manama Festivals
and Events and is held at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. It is actually
a shopper's paradise where you can buy high quality products at low prices.
Here you will find a wide range of products on art and crafts, electronics,
cosmetics etc.
