History of Bahrain:
Bahrain is the land of mythical fantasies and has a string of tales surrounding it. Earlier called as Dilmun, by the ancient Sumerians, the country was a paradise, free of all the sufferings on earth, according to its mythology. Bahrain was under the Portuguese rule from 1521 to 1622. Then it was attacked by many tribes and it came under the British protectorate also. Oil was discovered here in 1931.

The official language of Bahrain is Arabic, since it is predominantly a Muslim country. However, English is also a widely spoken language here.
