INTRODUCTION: Boracay one of the islands of the Visayas presents a multi racial culture and differs slightly from Manila. Philippino is the national language in Philippines but the people in different regions speak their local languages with a sligh diference in grammar and accent. Aklanon has some resemblance with the Spanish language. Philippines was a colony of the Spanish for a considerably long period of time. Spanish had left its mark on the language of the place. Thus Aklanon has some words originating from Spanish. Boracay is a multiracial and mutli linguist island with settlers from most of the major countries of Europe that include Geramny, France, Switzerland, Bavaria, Belgium, Spain, England and Australia. Thus the local language spoken by the people is a fusion of these languages. The national language of Philippines is the Philippino as per the Constituion of the country. It reads “As it evolves, it shall be further developed and enriched on the basis of existing Filipino or other languages.” The constitution also says “the regional languages are the auxiliary official languages in the regions and shall serve as auxiliary media of instruction therein.” And “Spanish and Arabic shall be promoted on a voluntary and optional basis.” Boracay Language is a combination of all the local languages with English as a communicative language with the tourists.
