Just behind the drum tower stood the bell tower in Beijing. Originally built in 1272 during the reign of Yuan dynasty, the bell tower stands high with a height of 47.9 meters. The Bell Tower was known to house a huge iron bell that was later replaced by a cast bronze bell with a thickness of 10 inches.
