The Spring Festival, China, is also known as the Chinese New Year. It's the most important festival in this part of the world. It's a vent for celebration and reunion for all the Chinese people. With the new moon on the first day of the New Year the festival begins and is carried till the 15th day, which is the full moon's day. This fool moon's day is observed as the Lantern Festival. With lanterns children parade through the streets at night, which is the most important ritual of the Lantern Festival.

The Spring Festival is observed on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month according to the Chinese calendar. Celebrated first during the Shang Dynasty, the Spring Festival is continued for 15 days, till the full moon's day. The most important days of the festival are the first three days when the festivity begins and the Spring Fest Eve. A holiday of 7 days is declared by the government during this time of the year.

The atmosphere of jubilation and festivity begins with decorating the house with good luck chimes, bells, decorative papers, lamps, candles, flowers etc. People also buy new clothes and other gift items for their friends and family members.
