International Fashion Festival in Dalian is one of the most celebrated events
in the city. The festival is infact, listed as of one the top three international
fashion festivals in China. Apart from Dalian, the other two fashion festivals
are held in Beijing and Shanghai.
The International Fashion Festival is organized every year and has been held
15 times. The fashion festival has attracted numerous leaders and celebrities
of China and from all over the world ever since its inception. The festival
usually held during the month of September every year and is held for about
a week.
The festival over the years has grown leaps and bounds. Numerous programs are
organized during the festival and the number of events has steadily been on
the rise. The latest edition of the International Fashion Festival had about
a dozen large scale events for the people of the city to enjoy.
The gala week long event brings together designers, models from the commercial
arena, fashion agents and fabric manufacturers from all over the world. The
schedule of the festival mainly comprises of numerous shows conducted by some
of the world's leading designers who showcase their latest collections. There
are forums for dress and adornments, cultural seminars and a garment and fabric
expo. The fashion festival also features a city carnival where singers, dancers
and musicians gather together to display their talents. The performers come
together to perm at the grand opening ceremony of the festival, closure, parades
and a number of rare shows.
The opening ceremony of The International Fashion Festival is Dalian is grand
event where more than 5,500 people perform. This large scale event marks the
first day of the festival. Some of the leading names in the world of fashion
who have graced the International Festival with their designs include Ermenegildo
Zegna, Les Copains and Etro from Italy.
