Bangchuidao Island, Dalian

Bangchuidao Island is situated about 9 kilometers away from the center of Dalian City. The Island lies to the east of the Binhai Road and consists of the Bangchuidao Islet, the natural lido and Bangchuidao Hotel. Bangchuidao Island is a famous seashore resort and offers excellent scenery of hills, sea, islet and the beach.

The northern part of Bangchuidao Island in Dalian is surrounded by hills and appears beautiful and verdant. Flourishing pine trees and cypresses are densely planted along the hills. There is an open maritime area featuring a smooth sand beach to the southern part of the Island. The lido adjacent is one of the best in Dalian city. Bangchuidao Islet derives its name from its shape which lies about 600m away from the seashore. The Islet is shaped like a Bangchui or a wooden club which is used by some people as a washing tool. The islet is relatively small and covers an area of about 0.3 km. You will come across steep cliffs, peculiar rocks, beautiful wild flowers and grasses everywhere if you explore the Islet.

The climate at the Bangchuidao Island is temperate which means that it is a perfect summer resort. The famous Bangchuidao Hotel is located here covering a large area. This is the only national hotel in Dalian City and offers a wide range of amenities. This is the place where most conferences are held. Most leaders also stay here who come for important conferences at Dalian which have been held numerous times in the past. Eminent personalities and leaders have graced the hotel such as the first Premier of the People's Republic of China, Zhou Enlai have stayed here.
