Buses are one of the most convenient transportation modes in Dalian. The bus service is very frequent and the system runs without any hitch. The service is so frequent that you would at most wait only 10-15 minutes to board a bus. Despite the service being good enough, the buses get very crowded during peak times. Apart from that, the buses do not have any air conditioning or heating systems; so you may not experience a comfortable bus ride. Running along high sloped streets, the trams are reasonably fast. If you are a native of San Francisco, trams will surely make you feel at home. Generally average speed trams cost around 1 Yuan but if you are in a hurry, you can avail faster trams at 2 Yuan.
Taxi service as a means of transportation in Dalian is easily available. The drivers are friendly but very few know English. Therefore, it is advisable to know Chinese destination names before you board one.
