Oriental Studio 2000 in Guangzhou is an amusement park cum a film/TV studio modeled on Hollywood's Universal Studios. Located at Dajing Zhonglu in Dong Fang Leyuan, it is open to public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Features of Oriental Studio 2000 in Guangzhou- Oriental Studio 2000 opened in 1996 in the Dongfang Amusement Park.- This entertainment complex has two movie sets with the theme of the best-known genres of Chinese moviemaking, the kung fu epic and the good old bad days of Shanghai. - The two shows apply all the equipments to be found in local film studios to give it a real look.- There are overhead wires for flying, facades that collapse, mats that become springboards and blowers to provide a snowfall or smoke.- The shows last 15 minutes with three performances a day. - The narrations are in Chinese and there's no program.- The totally visual experience makes up for the language barrier.- The ‘Shanghai in the Roaring '30s’ set has a chorus line of dazzling girls, gangsters, motorcycles, and machine guns. - The ‘traditional Chinese courtyard’ set, with stables and workshops, features a battle between ‘lion’ armies whose warriors bounce high into the air and perform breathtaking stunts. - The park has restaurants, some modeled on old films, serving Chinese and Western food.- There are shopping arcades selling souvenirs.- Oriental Studio 2000 stages folk dancing acrobatics and street performances by magicians and qi gong experts. - The main part of the amusement park features a huge Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, other fairground rides and a lake with pleasure boats.
