Huadu district in Guangzhou was identified as a city in 1993, and in 2000, it became an attached suburban district of Guangzhou. A warm and humid climate prevails in Huadu district as the Tropic of Cancer runs through it. Huadu, situated in the north of Guangzhou, is often referred to as the "the barrier of the capital city of Guangzhou and the throat of North Guangdong and South Guangdong”.
