Getting to Hangzhou by air is most convenient. Hangzhou's Xiaoshan International Airport is 17 miles (27km) outside of the city center. This airport is located at the southern shore of Qiantang river in the Xiaoshan district. This international airport is one of the greatest in the whole of China and has good international connections to Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Bangkok and Singapore and to 50 Chinese cities, including the major ones like Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xian and Guangzhou.

The best way of getting to Hangzhou by road is either to take up a taxi, bus or a car. There is easily availability of car from Shanghai. Taxies and cars can be negotiated by the tourists to reach this beautiful city. The fares are within the reach of the tourists but if required the people are ready to pay more to experience the scenic beauty of the city.

Getting to Hangzhou by sea provides the tourists with the experience of this beautiful bay. The bay is situated on the south of Shanghai and ends in Hangzhou. Thus, the bay makes an easy route to the immortal Hangzhou from the hustle bustle city of Shanghai.

Getting to Hangzhou can also be one of the comfortable journeys with several air-conditioned tourist trains running between Hangzhou and Shanghai which is about 180 kilometers (112 miles) apart.Thus, getting to Hangzhou by train is no problem with so many train schedules. The main train station at Jiancheng Road is located in the middle of the city. The Hangzhou East Railway Station is located a little bit away from the city centre.
