The most popular sight of Hangzhou is the West Lake. It covers an area of about 60 square kilometers and in this area itself are the numerous historic and scenic places. There are a number of cultural sites, historical pagodas and also the natural beauty of the hills and the lake.
The Jingci Temple is a very famous place in Hangzhou. Besides this there is also the Liuhe Pagoda and the Baochu Pagoda. The “ Yue- Wang Miao” or the “King Yue’s Temple” is in close proximity to the West Lake. It was originally constructed in the year 1221 in the memory of the great General Yue Fei who had been persecuted due to some political reasons.
Besides these places that are replete with a historical flavor there are the places that are abundant with the natural resources as well. There are places like the XiXi National Wetland Park that is quite well known. There are also the Dreaming of the Tiger Spring, the Hangzhou Zoo, the Leifeng Pagoda and the Qiantang Tidal bore or the Silver Dragon.
Visiting these popular get a ways is not much of a problem. The land is absolutely flat and one can use cycles as it is a very popular means of transport. The place is also well connected with both rail and airways.
