The shrine of remembrance or the main hall is located at the center of the Mausoleum. The main hall has a sculptured image of general Yue Fei. He wears colorful apparel and is found sitting on a cushion that is beautifully embroidered. There is a majestic expression on the face of the general. He seems to be courageous and with a sword in his hand he displays a solemn readiness to protect his country from the hands of enemies or invaders. There is a tablet above the statue bearing an inscription in Yue Fei’s very own handwriting that declares the pledge of keeping the State integrated. The main hall also acts as a gallery, displaying the pictures that tell us the story of Yue Fei’s life. The floor of the hall has a painting depicting 373 cranes that symbolize the integrity of the general’s character and also his faithfulness to his nation.
