Things to see around Mount Putuoshan:
Puji Temple: This is a huge temple that covers an area of about 11000 square meters. It was constructed during the Song Dynasty.
Fayu Forest: The temple building is set around the mountain and is shrouded with huge and ancient trees.
Huiji Temple: This temple is also known as the Buddhist Hilltop Temple because it is located on a higher altitude compared to the others around it.
The island center: the island center is covered with lush green forests and the major attraction is a thousand year old camphor tree. There are also many hornbeams that grow around the forest.
The sloping sandy shores around the island are known as “The Thousand-Step Sands” and the “Hundred Step Sands” which is comparatively smaller. The beaches are very popular among the tourists who take a bath in the sea while enjoying the beauty of the mountain and the island. The shores have plenty of entertainment facilities for the visitors. The mountain and the surrounding sea make a delightful spectacle and accounts for the immense popularity of the Mt. Putuoshan Scenic Spot.
Timings: The Island is open to the visitors for the entire day.
Admission charge: The visitors are charged with CNY 110 and CNY 130 during the legal holidays. If you are interested in visiting the Puji Temple, Huiji Temple or Fayu Temple you have to pay an extra charge of CNY 5. Children who have a height of less than 1.4 meters are allowed to enter the island free of cost.
