Xi Xi National Wetland Park:
Located towards the Southern end of the Hangzhou Beijing Canal, the Xi Xi National Wetland Park comprises of a vast area that is around 3.46 square kilometers. It not only has a rich cultural heritage but also abounds in natural ecological resources. The wetland park includes many ponds, streams, rivers and reed beds.
Interesting sites in Xi Xi National Wetland Park, Hangzhou:
- The autumn snow Temple: This temple was originally constructed in the
Soon Dynasty and it derives its name from a later Chinese poem that describes
the place in autumn when the reed seeds fill the air like flakes of snow.
- Xialongtan Ecological Conservation Area: This is a very large conservation area that consists of various water plants, land plants and birds. The place is excellent for bird watching.
- The Xixi Silk and Silk Worms story of Yanshui Fishing Villa: It displays the entire process of silk making beginning right from the raising of the silkworms.
Hangzhou Wild Animal World:
Hangzhou Wild Animal World is the largest in eastern China and it covers an area of about 3500 mu. The Animal World attracts a plethora of tourists from all over the world including China. The animals are seen to enjoy their lives in a perfectly natural ambience and the Park is based upon the idea that humans and animals should share the earth equally. The Hangzhou wild Animal World features some of the most rare and endangered animal species and also works for their preservation.
The Science Education System of the park hosts many programs that serve to
promote ecological awareness among the visitors. The programs are also very
entertaining and people of all ages would find them pleasant and enriching.
There are plenty of lions, leopards, swans golden monkeys whose feats will keep
you entertained through the entire day. The Park has several walking areas and
