Rapid modernization and a booming economy in the 1990s not only changed Shanghai's skyline. The mindset of people too started to change. To cater the need of business people and young and trendy locals, the municipal cultural authority decided to build a permanent structure to house Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe. Though this troupe was used to giving mobile performances at various venues, Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe, even in those testing times, did not lose moral and continued with their tradition of inventing newer acrobatic techniques.

Changing times demand a change in style and mindset. No one has been able to deny this. Keeping this time tested lesson in mind, Shanghai Acrobatic troupe came out of their cocoon and adapted itself with the need of the hour. The troupe in 1996 presented acrobatic shows on themes of Spring and Autumn. The seasonal acrobatic shows with a new freshness injected life into the out-of-fashion art called acrobatics.

Ending 4 years of construction work, the new Shanghai Circus World became operational in 1999. The Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe staged a unique show which told stories through the body language of acrobats. The three dimensional stage with special lighting effects coupled with great performance created a symphony that was never seen before by the locals.

Since that night, the troupe has never looked back. The performance of this troupe can now be seen at the Shanghai Circus World. The performance is a treat for the eyes and demands attendance from a visitor.
