Formula 1 or grand prix is one of the most expensive as well as popular sport
in the entire world. Initially the popularity of the sport was limited to Europe,
but then in the recent years, it has gained popularity in both Asia and America.
Asian countries have been the latest to enter the ever growing list of countries
hosting a formula I race. Shanghai in China now boasts of the Shanghai International
Circuit that acts as the venue for the formula 1 race. Formula 1 in Shanghai
has received a major boost because of the racing track that was built in the city.
Shanghai saw the advent of the first ever Chinese Grand Prix in the year 2004 and for the first time the city witnessed the stalwarts of the formula 1 racing world zoom across the newly built track in the city. Since 2004 formula 1's popularity has increased and people are taking a lot of interest in this thrilling sport.
The 2006 Chinese Grand Prix saw Michael Schumacher of Ferrari team clinch the
title and the second and third position was taken by Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo
Fisichella of team Renault. The 2006 edition of the tournament was extremely

2007 edition of the championship.
