Shanghai an important city in the Peoples Republic of China. The city is an important center in terms of art and culture. The city boasts of a rich culture and heritage and you can get a feel of it once you are in town. The city celebrates a number of festivals and events which have become an important tradition among the people of Shanghai.

Shanghai celebrates a number of festivals throughout the year. The Chinese New Year is the first important festival in the calendar. The Chinese meet and greet each other on the first day of the Chinese New Year. The homes are beautifully decorated on this occasion. The Longhua Temple Fair held at one of the most beautiful temples in Shanghai has a number of stalls where there are traditional Chinese crafts and Chinese cuisine that are sold. The Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival where there are a number of tea ceremonies and tea tasting sessions that are held.

There are a number of events too that are held in Shanghai. These include the Shanghai Television Festival, Shanghai International Arts Festival, Shanghai Asian Music Festival and the Shanghai International Magic Festival. The festivals are unique and there are a variety of programs that are organized during these festivals. The festivals add a lot of colour to the city and people are at their best while they come to the festival.
