Shanghai International Music Fireworks Festival is organized around National Day and has been held since the year 2000. The Music Fireworks Festival in 2000 was the first time that such an event was being staged in Asia.
Shanghai International Music Fireworks Festival is a traditional programme and a part of the Shanghai Tourism Festival. The Fireworks Festival has been held three times in succession and the new term "music fireworks" was brought to Shanghai for the first time. The term "Music fireworks" refers to a "symphony of fire", blending the rhythm, color, and composition of fireworks with the cadence and artistic conception of music.
The musical fireworks performance makes a very deep audio and visual impact on the audience. The festival showcases new technologies of sound, light and electricity and brings out a charm of spatial and visual art. The entire composition, rhythm, melody and artistic conception are all combined to ensure perfect harmony.
Shanghai International Music Fireworks Festival is held every year at the Century Park in Pudong. The previous editions of the festival have showcased masters from Switzerland, Britain, Japan and Argentina who have presented fireworks shows. You would need to but tickets for the festival which are available days before the performance. Ticket prices range between RMB 70 to 180. The event usually starts at around 7:30PM and continues till midnight.
