The Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival is attended by thousands of tea lovers, experts and tea producers from all over the world. Visitors attending the festival get to taste the best brands. There are numerous tea ceremonies that are spread around the town. You can also attend seminars and visit the famous tea spots in Shanghai.

The history of the tea culture festival can be dated back to the Revolutionary History Exhibition Hall in Zhabei District where the Songyuan Teahouse was opened. The tea house made good use of the documents that belonged to China's modern tea master, Wu Juenong who lived in the district for seven years. The teahouse gradually became an advocate of this traditional beverage. Seminars and get-togethers were held at the Songyuan Teahouse which became the inspiration for the tea culture festival.

The main venue of the Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival is the Zhabtei Park. The Zhabtei Park is a leisure park which is dedicated to tea. You can experience a number of performances which are mainly staged by the Song Garden Tea House. The Song Garden Tea House is the largest tea house in the Asia Pacific.

The Shanghai International Tea Culture Festival is an annual event and is usually held during the month of April.
