Shanghai International Tourism Trade Fair

Shanghai International Tourism Trade Fair is the largest of its kind to be held in the country. The fair jointly sponsored by the State Tourism Administration, the Shanghai Municipal Government and the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China.

Shanghai International Tourism Trade Fair attracts a large number of participants from around 40 countries of the world. Some of the leading countries who have participated in the previous editions of the fair include Australia, France, Germany, Japan, United States and Switzerland. Other countries who have participated before are Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Maldives and Vietnam. About 350 stands are booked by overseas participants every year.

In addition to the foreign participation, more than 1,200 tourism whole sellers and agents from more than 50 countries and regions conduct talks and trading activities with representatives of the domestic and overseas tourism departments and companies.

The main purpose of the Shanghai International Tourism Trade Fair is to conduct commercial exhibitions, economic and trade negotiations and other tourism related activities. These will create enormous opportunities for foreign investment in the local tourism. The fair also acts as a platform where visitors can directly interact with representatives of other states which results in more cultural exchange which results in improvement of relations between China and other countries of the world.
