Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival is held every year toward the end of March or the beginning of April. The festival takes places in tens of thousand acres of peach planting in Nanhui district which is a suburb of Shanghai.

The Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival is a festival of immense cultural significance. During this festival many activities are designed on the basis of rural life. The people of China are known for their love towards peaches and the peach blossom. The peach blossom, with its pleasant flowers, symbolizes life, growth and prosperity. The flowers form a visual hierarchy due to the ascending or descending of colors, form a rosy sea. The peach blossom is regarded as the most auspicious plant. The flower according to Chinese culture is a symbol of long life and one of the strongest defenses against evil.

The Shanghai Peach Blossom Festival is held every year in Nanhui since 1991 during the months of March and April. This festival signifies a combination of peach blossom appreciation and Chinese folk culture presentations. It has won several appreciations from visitors. Chengbei Folk Peach Orchard is the main meeting place where peach blossoms bloom luxuriantly every year. The Orchard was set up last year as a scenic spot for tourists from across the world.
