Grand View Garden in Shanghai is a beautiful garden located by Dianshan Lake in the Western part of Shanghai. The Grand View Garden is situated in the county of Qingpu and is a classical garden modeled on what was described in the novel of Hongloumeng which means “A Dream of Red Mansions”. Grand View Garden in Shanghai consists of a number of constructions that are beautiful and scenic. Some of the splendid architecture on display at the Grand View garden are Daguanlou known as the Grand View Tower, Xiaoxiangguan or Bamboo Lodge, Yihongyuan or Cheerful Red Court, Hengwuyuan or Lush Grass Court, Daoxiangcun or Paddy-Fragrance Cottage. These architectural wonders are either elegant, simple, secluded or exquisite but they fully embody the charm and mood which is portrayed in the novel of Hongloumeng. Grand View Tower is a heritage structure in the garden and is the scene where she gave the audience to her clansmen when she had come home for a visit. The principal is flanked by two Pavilions, Hanfang and Zhujin which connect each other via a corridor and also links with the two verandahs in the fore court.
