The Shanghai Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in Asia. Formerly a British horseracing track, it wasturned into a cultural park for the tourists from abroad. In the year 1980, the park was renamed as Shanghai Zoological Park.

Also, there are plants belonging to 600 different species and the total number
of trees is about 100000. Till date, Shanghai Zoo has been visited by about
150,000,000 visitors.
