The Shenzhen Metro SZM is referred to as the underground railway of Shenzhen in the Guangdong Province of Southern China. After the metro was inaugurated on December 28, 2004, Shenzhen became the 5th city in Mainland China to be connected with an underground railway system, after Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Trains operate every 6 minutes during the peak hours and at 6 to 11 minutes frequency at other times. An electronic signboard system puts on display the estimated arrival times of the trains. Opened on this line are 15 stations including: the Lo Wu, World Trade Center, Old Street, Grand Theater, Science Museum, Huaquing Road, Gang Xia, Exhibition Center, Shopping Park, Honey Lake, Che Kung Temple, Bamboo Forest, East of Overseas Chinese Town, Overseas Chinese Town, And Window of the World.

In the four line stations, trains operate at an interval of 17 minutes. There is no electronic signboard system to display the arrival times of the trains. The operational stations in this line are: Huang Gang, Fu Min, Hui Zhan Zhong Xin, Shi Min Zhong Xin and Shao Nian Gong. The services of the stations include free of charge washrooms, and public telephones, although the connections have not been forwarded to every station. The fare is payable in two methods – the Shenzhen Metro Trans Cards, or by cash.
