China Hi Tech Fair Exhibition Center

The China Hi Tech Fair Exhibition Center is a state level international hi-tech event that is held annually in Shenzhen in October. It is approved by the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and is jointly hosted by the 9 departments of the government and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government. Since its inception in 1999, the CHTF has provided a base for technology giants all over the world to showcase their achievements, exchange information, identify collaborators and explore business opportunities.

One of the Mainland’s sectors for hi-technology, the CHTF is one of the most influential events. It is attractive to foreign participants with the consulate identifying a specific focus for the exhibition, which includes hardware, nanotech and biotech. The Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center has been made fully operational with the Executive Mayor of the city stating that this event should develop into China’s premiere show on science and technology.

In 2005, the CHTF was held in the Shenzhen Citizen Center on the September 12. There were breakthroughs in terms of internationalization as was confirmed by 22 countries and institutions that they intended to expand in groups in China. Overseas exhibitors took up 35% of the exhibiting areas. The state-level exhibition of ‘High and New Technologies’ and ‘Hi Tech Human and Intellectual Resources’ represented the highest and latest level of development in the country’s technology sector.
