The city of Xian previously known as Chang'an, is the capital of the Shaanxi Province. Earlier it was the capital of quite a few feudal dynasties like Zhong, Qin, Han and Tang. Hancheng, Xian provides authentic information about this popular tourist place in Xian. Situated in the north eastern side of the Guanzhong Plain in eastern Shaanxi, the city of Hancheng is governed by the Weinan Government. In the past, this city used to bear a high commercial importance. It was the place where the businessmen and traders from all over China used to throng in order to make deals and to conduct other trade affairs. This promoted the local culture and business on an extensive scale. Hancheng, Xian is also renowned for being the hometown of the eminent scholar Sima Qian. The Siheyuan Courtyards especially that of the Dang Village are places which highlight the ancient culture. The well-planned Jincheng Street is another notable feature of Hancheng. Some other major attractions of tourist interests are Coonfucius Temple, Sima Qian Temple, Dragon Gate Scene Area, and many more. The other noteworthy sites include Taigong Temple, Yuwang Temple, Three Saints Temple, Xian Dian, Qing Gong and the tomb of Sima Qian. The astounding Wen Xing Pagoda is a must-see for the visitors. The best season or time of the year to visit Hancheng, Xian is the winter or the spring season, in the months of December, January, February and March.
