By Plane

You can get to Abu Simbel by plane either from Cairo or Aswan. From Cairo, you can get early morning flights that are about 5.30 am. From Aswan you can get up to four flights daily. You can make reservation as far as possible in advance. For that, you can contact with any Egypt Air office. They made every effort to provide seats for passengers, holding confirmed reservation. However the availability of reservation, booking and timings that are attached to them are not absolutely guaranteed.

By Buses
You can get to Abu Simbel by coach or minibus from Aswan, by traveling in police convoys. In Abu Simbel, you can get at least one daily convoy each way. When the demand increases, the number and frequency of them also raises. You are advised to check at the Aswan tourist office before making firm plans. For most of the year, the bus convoys leave Aswan around 3:30am. Actually they try to avoid the desert heat. Trips can be booked at a day's notice. For that the tourist information booth near Aswan central station is the safest option. All buses travel together in a military convoy. It takes around 3 hours. It is advisable to travel on air conditioned buses, in Abu Simbel, because, the journey back to Aswan is very hot.


By Boat

You can get to Abu Simbel by cruise ship from Aswan through Lake Nasser to Abu Simbel.
