The Black Desert: Located outside of the Bahariyya oasis is Egypt's unique desert that offers wonderful hiking site for the tourists as well as for the locals. Mountains of crumbled black stone of height hundreds of feet tall are excellent hiking spots.
The White Desert: Located about some 45 km from Farafra is another mysterious desert of Egypt. The rock formations of the desert are often quite dramatic. The white, cream color desert has massive chalk rock formations that have been created as a result of sandstorms and has been excellent hiking sites.
Sinai Mountains: One of the most popular hiking sites of the world, Sinai Mountains
at Egypt is one of the World's oldest massifs. 10 million year-old black volcanic
rock formations, interconnected labyrinth of valleys created by the rains and
melting snow make this mountain range highly favorable for hikers. The west
southern part at Sinai range is mountainous and the highest peak is St. Katherine
Mt. 2644 m .The start point for hiking is Bedouin village El-Milga near the
well known St. Katherine Monastery.
