Egypt Climate

Egypt generally experience hot and extreme climate due to the presence of vast arid region but still there is difference in the climate of Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt. Climate in Egypt is usually hot and dry most of the year. Temperature near the coast is low in comparison to other areas. Cairo lies in the middle of the Upper and Lower Egypt that's why it experiences a moderate climate throughout the year round.
The summer season in Egypt is exceptionally hot during the months of May to August. The average temperature during the season of summer in the south rises up to 41 degree centigrade and around 35 degree in the north.
The spring season in Egypt experiences temperate climatic conditions along with dust storms. Khamaseen is the usual sandy and dust full wind that blows from south raising temperature to sometime more than 38 degree centigrade.
Winters are generally warm and are the pleasant climate season for traveling to Egypt. The average temperature during winters is around 20 degree centigrade in the Upper Egypt and 13 degree centigrade in the Lower Egypt.
Geographical view of Egypt reveals that rainfall is very scanty. The average rainfall along the coast of Mediterranean is around 20 cm (8 inches). The southern part of the Egypt receives only about one inch of rainfall every year. Alexandria is the only city that receives the most rain while Aswan is the driest area of Egypt.
