Egypt language is the part of Afro-Asiatic group of languages and is closely related to Berber and Semitic. Egyptian language is one of the oldest recorded languages of this world. Information of Egypt languages is related to the history of Egypt.
Hieroglyphics are the first sign evidences of writing that strike when there is discussion about languages in Egypt's mysterical world. Hieroglyphic signs represent a single letter or combination of two or more letters. However the script used by the priests during the period is known by the name of "hieratic". This script was different from what the common people used i.e. "demotic". Demotic is the cursive form of hieroglyphics.
It was only during the Greek era of Egypt that the new Greek language was introduced in Egypt's land. The Romans introduced Latin language to Egypt but it failed to subsidized Greek language form the land of Egypt.
But soon Greek speaking people phoneticize the indigenous Egyptian language.i.e. Demotic and a new language called "Coptic" was founded. Coptic is the Egyptian language written with the Greek letters in addition with six to eight additional letters that represent sounds. With the Islamic conquest Arabic became the official language of Egypt.
At present time the national language of Egypt is the Egyptian Arabic that replaced Coptic Egyptian after the Arabs rule in Egypt. But the Coptic Church of Egypt still uses it.
