Egypt offers numerous entertainment means for the visitor as well as for the civilians also. The strong cultural influence of various dynasties that ruled Egypt in the ancient era can be easily reflected in the Egypt entertainments also.
The most influenced entertainment mean is Music and Dance. Egypt has a rich musical culture- a mixture of indigenous Egyptian, Arabic, African and Western. Harps and flutes were the two early known musical instruments played by Egyptians. During the Muslim dominance period, percussion and vocal music became prominent.
Along with time Egyptian pop music became popular. Egyptian music is a way to communicate with all classes of the society. In the present scenario Belly Dance and Egyptian Pop music are the most popular music and dance form in Egypt.
The Cairo Opera House located on the island of Gezira in the Nile is Cairo's main venue for dance, drama, film and music. The Arab Music Festival and the International film festival held in the months of November and December respectively occurred in this opera house only.
The Howard Café Theater Company is a student developed theater company at the American University in Cairo. This theater company works under the Performing and Visual Arts department of Egypt.
Nightlife at Cairo gives a totally different entertainment pleasure in Egypt. The bars, clubs, discos and casinos are the funfilled entertainment ways. Besides these one can also experience the fun in exploring the vast desert area in Egypt or can sail through the Nile or can explore the exotic marine world of the Nile River.
Festivals of Egypt are also a part of entertainment in Egypt. The most important festival is of Ramadan-a month long fasting festival. Some of the ancient festivals of Egypt can provide good entertainment for the visitors.
The adventurous sports like trekking in the Sinai Peninsula, swimming, rowing,
river rafting, diving are the other means of Egypt entertainment or fun.
