The stunning beauty of Sharm el Sheikh has made it one of the popular and coveted
destinations of Egypt. An equitable temperature sets it apart from the remaining
desert locales of Egypt and the amazing marine life and dreamy, languid settings
have attracted many families. More and more people visit this burgeoning township
not simply as holiday makers but as prospective citizens and many have taken
up residence here.
The real estate market at Sarm el Sheikh is causing quite a buzz. This can
be evidenced from the fact that Sharm el Sheikh, a quaint fishing hamlet just
a decade ago is now teeming with local industry and tourism. The population
count, hovering around a 100 some 15 years back, now stands at an astounding
23000. It needs to be noted that most of the citizens of Sharm el Sheikh have
embraced Islam as their religion and Arabic is the language popularly used.
Way back in 1971, articles written in the Time magazine termed Sharm el Shareikh
‘a nice place to live’. And with the inrush of tourists, the allied businesses
have flourished here and made Sharm el Sheikh a better place to live. More amenities
and comforts have crept into the lives of the natives and hence the population
of the city is fast increasing multifold.
