The general crew complement is one to nine and varies as per race and canoe.
Outrigger Canoeing can also be adapted for people with disabilites. The International Va'a Federation includes adaptive events in World Sprints and the sport has popular amongst disabled athletes from nations such as the U.S.A, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
