Unlike other Fijian cities, the skyline of Suva is dotted by several tall buildings. With an altitude of almost 81 feet, Suva Central is the tallest building in the entire Pacific Islands region. There are several other buildings too and this city enjoys the distinction of being the commercial hub of Fiji. In other words, it is Suva that drives the Fijian economy forward. The first ever music festival at Suva over fulfilled everyone's expectations. Inspired by the success of this festival, the organizers-Sandjunes Management Group- has decided to hold the event again in 2007. Popular local bands such as Te Vaka and Black Rose performed in front of capacity crowd in the National Stadium of Suva. Drawing a lot of inspiration from the tribal music, the music played by Te Vaka band is powerful yet warm and earthly. The log drums that this band uses as the main instrument emits sound resembling that of the waves in the South Pacific Ocean. Apart from the traditional Fijian music, the other bands also dished out other genres like reggae and all.
