Public Holidays in Fiji reflect the distinct Culture of Fiji. The dates are recommended by the Minister for Labor and Industrial Relations. They are finally approved by the Cabinet.

The dates for Fiji public holidays like the National Youth Day, Diwali, and Prophet Mohammed's Birthday, the Special Public Holidays, are fixed by the Ministry of Education, youth and Sports, the Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, and the Fiji Muslim League respectively. The Fiji Council of Churches submits the dates for the Easter Holidays, and the date for the Queen's Birthday is confirmed by the British High Commission.

The New Year's Day on 1st January is the first of the public holidays at Fiji in the year. In places the New Year is celebrated for a week or even for a month.
