Rocher des Doms Avignon

Avignon is one of the most beautiful places in France. The Rocher des Doms is a rocky spur which is located to the north of the Papal Palace in Avignon. This spur falls steeply down to the Rhone River. A park or garden has been created at the top of the spur that needless to say offers a really stunning view. You will get to see Barthelasse and Piot islands in the river. Today the beautiful park has heightened the beauty of the city manifold. It faces the Villeneuve les Avignon . The park's terrace offers a really stunning view of the countryside. The garden on this rocky outcrop was set in 1830 AD. It also hid a water tank which supplied water to the city. You can approach the Rocher des Doms from different parts of the city. There is a beautiful lake here and in the middle of the lake is a masterpiece of Felix Charpentier , Venus with the Swallows . There is a slope which will offer you an easy way to approach this place.

To enjoy the ethereal beauty of this place, you will have to sit down in the shade of the trees. Admire the ducks and the peacocks which are always nearby. It is a place to be enjoyed with the whole family, it is common to see young parents with their children playing nearby having a day out in the park. You can relax here for hours with coffee, it will be a most memorable day of your life.
