U G C Cine Cite Bercy had been planned for a decade. But the problem remained until the whole area was remodeled and the metro station opened. Bercy was a typical place that looked like an old village. Wine was sold in hundreds of small houses. Most of the area was transformed into housing projects, a park, and the cinema. Some houses near the theater were kept and remodeled; they were used as restaurants, wine bars and shops.
U G C Cine Cite Bercy has an impressive capacity of 4390.All the theatres are like stadium, two biggest theatres accommodate up to seating 450 patrons. The number of tickets sold every week is impressive and every box office hit runs there.
The ways to get from the bars to the theatres are quite sophisticated. The design is sober with black colors and concrete walls. It is a different atmosphere altogather.
The auditoriums are absolutely great; they all have stadium-style seating arrangement. It has wall-to-wall curved screens and DTS sound.UGC Ciné Cité has its own exclusive decoration, which means everything is black but the back of the seats are made of brown wood. Only two small auditoriums thirteen out of nineteen at the UGC Ciné Cité les Halles, theater 16 (161 seats, 10 meters wide screen) and theater 17; they are a bit larger than the most of the thirteen small auditoriums at the UGC Ciné Cité Les Halles. The largest ones are theaters 31 and 33. They can accommodate up to 450 viewers, and have 18-meters (60 ft) wide screens .Theaters 21 and 33 are a bit smaller, with 350 seats and 16-meters wide screens. The other auditoriums look alike and are pretty decent, with 200 seats and 13-meters wide screens.
The UGC Bercy is the perfect movie theatre of the 21st century.
