Thousands line up at the cathedral to celebrate the ushering of Christmas and the church goes on to organize a late night mass followed by an equally sumptuous evening dinner and the dinner comprises of the traditional turkey or goose along with a massive chocolate cake. The entire church or cathedral is lit up with the festive lights and seems to be lending a festive feel to the entire atmosphere.

There is a huge Christmas Tree lit up with lights and other interesting colorful decorations seem to be adorning the tree. The people gathered here come all dressed in bright colors most of them already dressed in their best attires specially bought for Christmas. The cathedral then goes on to hold a special mass and then the cathedral sees people singing the carols one after the other commemorating the birthday of Christ.

The Christmas Eve Mass as is the case is traditionally hosted on 24th December midnight and this year it has been slated for Monday.
