The theatre has gone through some renovations in the recent past. Despite this, films and movies are shown in the lobby since the year 1992. The Babylon Mitte reopened in the year 2000 as a small auditorium.

Babylon Mitte, Berlin is known for the screening of English films of Hollywood and foreign films that are screened with English subtitles. Various interesting retrospectives, eastern Bloc films and independent movies are arranged for screening. One can also head to the Jaques Tati café that is attached to the hall of Babylon Mitte or visit the "Roter Salon" is right down the street.
