Schönefeld Airport was founded in October 15th 1934 but was renamed several times between 1947 and 1990. There are four terminals A, B, C and D. Most of the airlines arrival and departure took place at terminal A except some famous international airlines. Terminal B conducts both arrival and departure of Easy Jet airlines while terminal D is only for Germanwings airlines. All Israeli airlines arrive and depart from terminal C. all the four terminals of the airport are well connected with each other.
Berlin-Schönefeld Airport is also well served by Berlin-Schönefeld Flughafen railway station. One can easily move to any place of the country from the airport.
However it was planned to convert Berlin-Schönefeld Airport to Berlin-Brandenburg
International Airport. This plan will replace all the three airports currently
serving the Berlin city. Besides, the other two airports that serve Berlin city
are Tegel International Airport and Tempelhof International Airport.
