Tegel International Airport in located in Tegel and is called as the Frequent
Flier Airport. This airport has the most number of scheduled flights amongst the
three airports in Berlin. The Tegel International Airport in Berlin has
a hexagonal terminal building around an open square that makes walking to and
fro from the airplane to 100 ft.
The most convenient mode of transport to and fro from the Tegel International
airport is bus that connects subways and over ground train stations. One can
also hire taxis that are parked outside the airport. The facilities in the airport
include banks, money change, ATM, post office, baby rooms, business centers,
disabled facilities, restaurants, shops that include duty free shops, etc.
The Tegel International Airport shall be closed in 2011, six months after the
formation of new terminal and the renaming of the Berlin Schonefeld International
Airport to Berlin Brandenburg International Airport.
