Berliner zoo and aquarium, Berlin boasts to be the largest zoological garden in the world. The zoo was opened in the year 1844 almost 150 years ago. King Friedrich Wilhelm IV conferred the Berlin city with beautiful animals. In the beginning the zoo was all filled with king's peasants. The zoo was designed by Peter Lenne. The King allotted Lenne to do the job. The animals were all provided from the king's menagerie. Berliner zoo and aquarium, Berlin has good collection of animals including a lot of endangered species also. There are cheeky orang-utans, rhinos. Penguins. It is one of the most diversified zoos in the world. The zoo is located near to the Tiergarten Park which is one of the most popular parks in Berlin. People visit this place to enjoy the serene atmosphere and warmth of the weather. The World War II marked the destruction of the zoo to a major extent. The animals all roam around free. The zoo was built keeping in mind the natural habitat of the wild animals. There are almost 15000 animals in the zoo that represent 140o species of animals. The bird house is the best in Europe. The pandas are the animals who gather a lot of attraction. The pandas were donated by China and maintain celebrity status amongst the animals. The aquarium contiguous to the zoo is lovely place to visit. The aquarium is the place of fishes, amphibians, reptiles and a crocodile hall. The clownfish tank is an attraction of many because it has a Nemo in it. There are poison frogs and octopuses too. The officials restrict people to carry animals inside the zoo aquarium. The aquarium is open from 9 am till 6pm in the evening. Berliner zoo and aquarium, Berlin is a visual pleasure for anybody who visits Berlin. The visitors can enjoy the zoo and aquarium together.
