The actual location of KölnArena in Germany is at Cologne-Deutz and it is the home of the Kölner Haie, a hockey club that is based in Cologne. It means they play all their home games in the German Ice Hockey League and German Ice Hockey Federation Cup at KölnArena in Germany. However, the German National Hockey Team also plays their games at this arena. It is not that just the Kölner Haie gets huge crowd support playing at KölnArena, the team handball club VfL Gummersbach and the RheinEnergie Köln, which is the basketball team also gets to play some matches at this venue. In 2007, the KölnArena was the venue for the World Men's Handball Championship.
