Germany - Cologne - Dusseldorf - Frankfurt - Munich - Stuttgart - Hamburg - Berlin

Dusseldorf is a city in Western Germany. Located on the banks of the River Rhine and on the delta of Dussel, the city is the capital of the Federal State of North Rhine Westphalia. Being well connected with all parts of Germany and world by air, rail and road links; Dusseldorf is a major tourist hotspot in Germany. The city offers so much in terms of historical places and other sight seeing places. A look at modern Dusseldorf makes it hard to believe that this city was once a simple habitation of the Germanic tribes in the first millennium. First the tribes and then the Berg rulers in the second millennium A.D. ruled over the city. However the city after post Second World War emerged as an important telecommunication hub in Germany. At present this city is home to more than 18 internet service providers. With so much on offer for even the business people; it is not surprising that the city swarms with visitors. Grone Jong is a important crowd puller in Dusseldorf.

Located at Hofgarten, Innenstadt in Dusseldorf, Germany; the Grone Jong fountain is a major tourist attraction. The fountain consists of statues of Greek god. Triton, the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite is placed in the middle carrying a trident and a shell-trumpet. The statue shoots water high into the air. However in the summer months, the water at the base pool runs dry.

The Grone Jong fountain at Dusseldorf in Germany, like many other fountains in this city, has now been facing a chronic problem. The reason why this fountain and others as well remain dry even during when it rains is attributed to the high concentration of chlorinated hydrocarbons. Even if you find the pull dry and miss the coveted opportunity to see water spurting high up into the air, the surrounding is sure to compensate for that loss. The surrounding is lined by tall green trees. The fountain is like an oasis in a city.
