Bornheim is a town and a municipality in the Rhein-Sieg district, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The town is situated on the left bank of the Rhine River about 10 kms to the north-west of Bonn and 20kms to the south of Cologne.
The town of Bornheim in Frankfurt is indeed beautiful. There are several attractions in the city which have charmed travelers who come for a holiday from different corners of the world. Some of the popular attractions in this beautiful town include Bornheimer market which has been there since the 1980s. The market remains open from 8AM to 6:30PM on the Berger road between Uhrtürmchen and hall castle route. This is perhaps the most interesting and the most usually visited place in Frankfurt. You could buy fresh fruit and vegetable over cheese specialities and meat of all kinds up to bio commodity and preserving everything is here simple. This is also a popular meeting place.
The buildings in Bornheim are traditional and were all built during the 50s or the 60s in the last century. Some of the houses are made of timber and are picturesque sight. Bornheimer city hall is a magnificent hall. Besides some beautiful buildings the town also has a number of international restaurants and cafes which are steeped in tradition. There are a number of apple wine restaurants.
