Hamburg, Germany is the second largest city in the country along with being the second largest port city in the whole of the European sub continent. It is located at the tip of the Jutland Peninsula, between Scandinavia and Continental Europe and in between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. It lies at the point where the River Elbe meets the Bille and the Alster. The city center is remarkably beautiful set around the two lakes of the Aussenalster , "Outer Alster" and the Binnenalster "Inner Alster".

There are also the nine mass transit routes that traverse across the city and it forms the basic network. The main ones are the Katharinenkirche, Petrikirche, Nikolaikirche, and the Jakobikirche. Some of the main theatres are the English Theatre, Ernst-Deutsch-Theater, Theater Allee, Schauspielhaus, St. Pauli Theater and one should see the performances here to get the ture flavor of the place.

Presently there are 79 museums. There are exhibits and collections that will entice any visitor. The main museums are the Altona Museum and North German State Museum,Bucerius Kunst Forum, Hamburg Museum for Archaeology and the History of Harburg, Museum of Hamburg History and Speicherstadt Museum.
