Wewelsburg Germany

Germany - Cologne - Dusseldorf - Frankfurt - Munich - Stuttgart - Hamburg - Berlin
Wewelsburg is considered to be one of the constructions which are situated in the north western part of Rhine Westphalia, near the crystal streams of Alme. This castle is nestled in the arms of Alme Valley which is described as poetry by nature. This chronological evidence was established between the years of 1603 to 1609 by the Prince of Paderborn.

The visitors can take a peep-a-boo in the area of “Battle of the Teutoburg Forest” which took place in the year of 9 A.D. the tribes used to fight for their sovereign rights and duties. The political condition was out brimming with blood feuds and turbulences. The battle faded away with the decline of the influence of Romans.

As revealed by the narratives the Roman sovereign rulers were never been able to conquer the Germanic tribes. The walls of this particular castle witnessed the torture and execution of innumerable witches and women who were aware of “black magic” during 17th century. In the year of 1802, the castle again went back under the ownership of the Prussian state.

Under the Nazi militarism, this palace was transformed into museum, banquet hall and hostel for the corps. War prisoners were grounded in this particular castle. The Jews from the concentration camps of Saxonia and Niederhagen were used to construct the Wewelsburg of Germany between the years of 1939 and 1943 under the guidance of Hermann Bartels. This palace is also well known for “Neo Nazism” and “occult”.

The most intriguing part of this castle is “Himmler’s crypt”. The war plots and strategies were framed within this historical periphery. In the year of 1950, the castle was transformed into war museum and memorial. The visitors will be having goose-bumps once they enter the palace.
