Cap San Diego Ship

Germany - Cologne - Dusseldorf - Frankfurt - Munich - Stuttgart - Hamburg - Berlin

This ship was built some forty years or so back and is last in line of those mixed cargo vessels that slowly gave way to the container vessels that keep on plying even to this day. The vessel is a pride of Hamburg since it was designed by the famous marine architect Casar Pinnau and this ship has been lucky enough not to meet the fate of its sister ships which had to be scrapped during the eighties.

The ship is a representative of the class that started a fast cargo vessel and it had cold storage and space for twelve people to travel overseas. The freight container resembles elegant yachts with a capacity of carrying more than ten thousand three hundred tones. The freight ship started sailing in 1962 and with in a span of twenty years it has been able to make more than hundred trips between Hamburg and South America. However the falling demands of these kinds of ships led to this ship changing hands few times over.

The ship was saved from the jaws of death as it had already sailing to the destination in which it was supposed to be scrapped. However the ship has been saved and it lives to see many more days. It has also become an integral part of the landscape of the city of Hamburg, and it is fit for voyage even to this date and can take on the ocean waters anytime. The ship is open to the public and people can visit this magnificent vessel which has braved the winds many a times.

The entire vessel is open to visitors and there are exhibitions from time to time to keep the visitors interested. There is an on board restaurant plus places which are equipped to hold more than thousand people for parties and other festivities.
