The history of Hanover
The town of Hanover was founded during the medieval times on the River Liene bank. It was actually a tiny village consisting mainly of ferry and fisher men. It grew after the 13th Century and in the 14th century there were innumerable churches, along with the town gates were built. Then the Duke of Calenberg made his residence here and from then on the place grew to achieve its modern form.
